Idaho AHEC is a program of Mountain States Group, Inc. a multi-service non-profit organization located in Boise. It is affiliated with University of Washington School of Medicine WWAMI Program. AHEC Programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HERSA)
While AHEC programs vary somewhat from state to state, they are all united by the guidance of the National AHEC Organization (NAO) whose mission is:
“Connecting students to careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health."
In Idaho we partner with primary care providers, state agencies, clinics, schools, and other key stakeholders to promote and support programs that will enhance the health careers workforce and/or foster better health for Idaho communities.
If you have a program or event you would like to see posted on this blog, please email the director at lbennett@mtnstatesgroup.org.
